Pinckney Community Education offers Under-10
tennis for grade schoolers during the school year. Current structure
is one hour sessions, one week night for 6 weeks. Classes are
divided into 5, 6, & 7 year olds and 8, 9 & 10 year olds. All
equipment is provided. Low compression balls, appropriate size
rackets and downsized courts. .Fun and games are incorporated into
basic skill development: eye-hand coordination, footwork, forehand
and backhand technique.
Middle School Tennis program
Pinckney Community Education offers
afterschool tennis for grades 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8 in the Spring and Fall.
The current structure is Tuesday and Thursday after school.
All equipment is provided. Low compression balls, appropriate size
rackets and downsized courts. Instructors include HS coaches and
high school varsity players.
Junior Varsity and Varsity tennis is a full
schedule program for boys (Fall) and girls (Spring).
High School tennis is
proud to be a no-cut program. If you’re willing to try hard, you’ll
make the team! The HS teams also play in a off-season travel league.
Kids Summer Lessons
Pinckney Community Education offers six-week
sessions for K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and high schoolers. In partnership with
The Sports Club of Novi; instructor is a teaching professional.
In partnership with the Sports Club of Novi,
teaching professionals offer weekly opportunity for our high school
and aspiring juniors for advancing skills and competition.
Pinckney Community Education offers Beginner
and Advanced lessons in the Spring and Summer. Six week sessions
offer an opportunity for beginners-and-up to learn and improve
skills. All equipment is provided.
Pinckney Schools are proud to offer 18
courts; 10 at the high school and 8 at Pathfinder Middle School for its students and the
public. Both courts were resurfaced in 2013 and are open for public
use at any time the schools are not using them. At the middle
school, four courts are blend-lined (blue) for low-compression ball
tennis, and four are blend-lined (blue) for Pickelball. There
are practice backboards at both courts and ball recycling tubes for
you old balls.
Pinckney Area Community Tennis Association
The PACTA is proud to be one of only three
tennis “associations” in the state of Michigan. It is community
driven to promote tennis as a fun lifetime activity for any and all.
